The SRM X-Power power meter pedals debuted as SPD-compatible options in 2019, and gained U.S. assembly last year to speed up delivery for North American customers. Now, they’ve added the power meter pedal spindles to their flat pedals, too!
The new X-Power Flat Pedals use the same strain gauges to give you full power readings, with dual- and single-leg options. The spindle can be installed without special tools, and (thankfully) orientation doesn’t matter…just install, pair them with your cycling computer, and go ride.
The X-Power Flat Pedals open up power measurement to e-MTB riders, BMXers, and commuters…or even just regular mountain bikers who prefer not to be clipped in. They communicate in ANT+ and Bluetooth, so they should pair with any modern cycling computer and smartphone.
The pedals weigh in at 205g (claimed) each and come in black, red, orange, blue, and green anodized alloy bodies. Those bodies are replaceable, too, so if you damage the platform, you don’t have to replace the expensive electronics and spindle, too.
Retail is $1,499 for the pair, or $1,199 for the single-leg option that includes a “dummy” pedal. Each pedal transmits separately, so you can upgrade to a dual system later, and get true left-right balance power data with +/-2% accuracy. Expect about 30 hours of run time between charges.
They’re hand assembled upon order, so expect a 2-3 week lead time.
