Harley Davidson’s Serial 1 to launch wild-looking BASH/MTN eMTB

[ad_1]

Serial 1, a quasi-independent electric bicycle company spin-off from Harley Davidson, has released the BASH/MTN, an aluminum frame, rigid single-speed eMTB. This one is an off-road adaptation of the MOSH/CTY eBike, limited to 1050 units: 525 for the United States and 525 for Europe.

If this is the first you’ve heard of Serial 1 and their involvement with Harley Davidson, and are dumbfounded that the motorcycle brand are now making eBikes, then you may benefit from a listen to this podcast with Jason Huntsman, CEO of Serial 1. In the podcast, Jason explains how his aerospace experience working on the space shuttle, and his e-mobility efforts at Ford, led him to Harley Davidson, and now, leading their e-bike efforts at Serial 1.

Key to the adaptation of the MOSH/CTY to the BASH/MTN eMTB is the fitment of 2.6″ Michelin E-Wild mountain bike tires, and an SR Suntour NCX suspension seat post, both of which will help manage bumps and vibrations, while 4 piston hydraulic disc brakes from TRP take care of speed management.

The BASH/MTN packs a 529 Wh battery inside the downtube, powering a mid-drive Brose S-Mag motor with a maximum torque output of 90 Nm, with assistance limited to a maximum speed of 25 km/h. A single-speed drivetrain driven by a Gates Carbon Belt Drive keeps maintenance requirements to a minimum.

Like all 2022 Serial 1 eBikes, the BASH/MTN is compatible with the Serial 1 App, developed in partnership with Google Cloud to capture essential ride data and improve security and safety. It also gets integrated lighting, including a headlight, taillight and brake lights, so riders can see and be seen when riding in traffic. Unlike Serial 1’s RUSH/CTY eBikes, the BASH/MTN is not compatible with fenders or racks.

No word on pricing and availability just yet.
