Bike Math: See How Two Wheel Halves Can Work as One

For most cyclists, a cracked wheel is as good as done. But for the resourceful rider in this video, it’s an opportunity to get nerdy.

In this instructional edit, one clever bike enthusiast proves that with a little ingenuity, two broken halves of one bike wheel can work as a whole — and do it just as well.

How does it work? Ukrainian science channel The Q, which posted the clip, explains it succinctly.

“This is how regular mathematics looks: 0.5 + 0.5 = 1. In bikematics it works as well,” it said.

Fair enough! But don’t take it from us — press play and see for yourself.
