Extremely Runner Tim Tollefson Battles Physique Dysmorphia in New Movie

[ad_1]

‘What Goes Unsaid’ is an intimate portrait of one ultra runner’s battles with mental health and eating disorders.

Tim Tollefson is an ultra runner who never looked like an ultra runner. At least that’s what he’s told himself over a running career that stretches back to middle school.

“I thought I had to change my body to be more successful,” Tollefson says in “What Goes Unsaid,” a new film from COROS. “I’ve had a lot of races that didn’t go that well, and it’s because I’ve never worked on the mind.”

In the film, Tollefson opens up about his lifelong struggles with body image, anxiety, and other mental health issues related to his career as an ultra runner. It’s a poignant reminder that many people struggling with mental health — including elite athletes — do so in painful silence.

Hopefully, the more people are open about their issues — as in this film — the more other people will seek help.
