‘Failure’ in Ultrarunning: Salomon Athlete Shares Life Classes

[ad_1]

Professional ultrarunning involves massive amounts of pain and disappointment. Just take it from Ryan Sandes.

It’s often said that failure serves as one of life’s best teachers. South African ultrarunner Ryan Sandes knows that better than most.

Early in his career, Sandes set a goal of winning the coveted UTMB, considered one of the most difficult races in the world. Then, he failed to finish four times.

In the latest vid from Salomon TV, Sandes discusses how these failures continued to push him forward, helping him become the runner he is today.

“I’m not getting any younger,” he says in the video. “I guess this might be the end of me … ever being able to give it a bash.”

Whatever you’re struggling with in life, Sandes’ troubles will help you remember you’re not alone.
