Kiana Clay Shares Her Comeback Story in Garmin’s ‘Ladies of Journey’ Collection

[ad_1]

Kiana Clay competes in motocross, snowboarding, wakeboarding, and skateboarding — after losing the use of her right arm at 12 years old.

There’s something undeniably cool about a disabled athlete showing the rest of us what we’re missing. And that’s exactly what all-around badass Kiana Clay does in the latest YouTube vid from Garmin.

At the age of 12, Clay experienced two severe accidents, one on a motorbike and one in a car, both within a few months. As a result, she lost the use of her right arm.

But as Garmin points outs, “adaptive athlete Kiana Clay doesn’t like being told she can’t do something.” Watching her soar on both snow and dirt, that quickly becomes clear.

“When I do sports, it’s the one time I don’t feel disabled,” she says. “I love the feeling of freedom and adrenaline. It lets me play on the edge.”
